The Greatest Power in the Human Body

In Indian philosophical and spiritual thought, after the Vedas, the Upanishads have the most important place. In these texts, the intelligent and accurate explanation of the divine power, the creation of the soul, is  found which is rare to get in any other literature of the world. Through the story described in the Upanishads, we will try to know, "Who is the greatest?" Or, which is the greatest power in the human body?

Once upon a time there was a dispute among all the senses of the body about which of them is greater, which is superior? They kept trying to exaggerate themselves from each other. Apart from the senses, Prana also had a part in this dispute. All these senses and prana reached Prajapati to settle this dispute and said that you should decide who is the best among us senses and life?? Prajapati said who would  be able to made  a body inactive , he could be  considered superior.

Hearing this, first the speech left the body, it came back after staying outside for an year and asked the rest of the senses: - How did you survive without me? In response, the senses said :- just as a dumb man lives without speech power and lives, in the same way,   we also lived in your absence. This body kept breathing through the nose, watching with the eyes, hearing with the ears, thinking with the mind. All its programs went on, only there was no power to speak. Now Vani had come to know that the body could survive without me, it means I was not superior.

After this, the eye-power left the body and returned after staying outside for a whole year, then told him the same thing that in the absence of eyes, like a blind, all the work of the body continued :- Breathing process from Prana, power of hearing, speech, mind all continued to do their work. So the body did not face any particular difficulty. Now the eyes had also understood that they were not the best.

Now the mind separated itself from the body for an year and there was no difficulty in the movement of the body, so much had happened that in the meantime the mental activities like thinking power, resolution, choice etc. were ended . Anyway there are many people in the world who are suffering from mental diseases but they survive.

Now at last the prana started coming out of the body,  the condition of the body had become like if you started beating a horse after tying it to a peg, what would he do….the chasing of the stick was also very painful for the horse so it might try to uproot that peg with all his strength. This was the condition of all the senses of the body, as soon as the prana left the body, the nose, ears, eyes, speech, all the senses started leaving their place and the condition of reaching the dead state of the body was created. In this way, for the condition of the body, Prana was considered the best and Prana was considered the best. Now all the senses came closer to the Prana and started saying ," you are the best among all of us, you are our master, do not leave this body." So this proved that pranashakti in the body is the basis of life.

The voice further says that while mentioning his glory, people say, "You are Vasistha, but in reality you are Vasistha, Vasistha means good money power. Again the eye said that people call me prestige but you are the reason for our prestige ". The ear said "I am called wealth, but you are the real wealth. In the end, the mind said ," I am called shelter, but you are the real shelter of this body". In conclusion, if pranashakti does not exists then speech, eyes, ears, mind etc. also don't exist .  In the absence of life, eyes' balls remain only in the dead body but they can't see. Speech power   means tounge is there but a body without life does not speak. Ears are there in a dead body  but  don't  hear. Nose is also still present in a dead body  but breathing does not take place. Therefore, the basis of the body is pranashakti. Trees also dry up in the absence of vitality, but it shows it's presence in the existence of life. That's why we should keep on taking measures to increase our pranashakti. Our food, our living style etc.  everything should be to increase our vitality . For this, we should eat food according to the season and in less quantity. Along with this, we should also do yoga, pranayama and asanas etc. Ayurveda and Naturopathy should be adopted in daily life style. In today's modern era, we can understand this very well by taking example of corona. In the pandemic attack of coronavirus ,only those whose pranashakti force was strong,  could  survive . Therefore, taking pride in our ancient traditions, adopting Vedic ideology, increase your pranashakti and make the traditions popular in the world which had been established by our ancestors .
