Teacher's Day

Teachers are  nation builders .

Teacher's Day is celebrated with great pomp & show all over the world. According to Indian tradition, it is celebrated in the name of Guru Purnima in July month and according to the calendar, Teacher's Day is celebrated on 5th September on the occasion of the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. And Internationally, Teacher's Day is celebrated on 5th October. By dedicating this one day  to the teachers, we cannot repay our debt towards the teachers, but on this day we can definitely glorify their roles by expressing our regard, dedication towards them. We can inspire the coming generation by represnting the highest place of Guru . Without them we can't learn anything in life. As we grow up, we learn a lot from everything around us, from nature, from parents, from society, but the education we get from teachers take us to a higher level. We cannot describe the glory of a Guru in one day. The level of Guru is so high that it cannot be compared with any other person .

Guru  does not only help us in setting our goals but also awakens the will power which is required to achieve that particular goal. Shri Ram got his Guru  Vishwamitra &  represent the best kingdom , even today we imagine a kingdom like that .  Shree Krishna also got education from gurukul & He is known as Yogeshwar,  the best scholar &  warrior. Maharana Pratap  also got his education from gurukul and earned name & fame in each & every  field. There are many examples which can't be explained in a single article.   If we talk about ancient times, Gurukul education was at the peak and at the age of 5 to 8 years all the children were sent to Gurukul because at that time   they were not  educated  the bookish knowledge only but they  also were taught  from the perspective of  overall development means religious, social, economical, political and scientific etc.  But in today's modern era, only theoretical knowledge is given in schools because the goal is to get marks, to get rank. And numbers & ranks determine the future of student's life. Without numbers & ranks  there is no imagination  of a beautiful life. But in this race , the sanskars  , moral ethics are getting lost somewhere .  That's why most of people give up their hopes and we find  the names of many prosperous businessmen,  artists and  eminent persons in the news of suicide. Because such people have achieved success  only in one field . They  have got marks - in economical/ social/ political field only  but there are various stages in life which we need to face everyday . It doesn't mean that these areas are not touched at all, there are many workshops in the name of life skills .  Teachers are trained to teach all these things to the children, but arrangements have to be made for them, time must have to be taken for the same which is not possible to be given  in school time period .  Because for this neither the parents give time to their children nor the teacher can do it because everyone's attention is to complete the syllabus and score marks. Even if you hold such workshops 4 -6 times in 6 months or  in a year, then it is not sufficient . For this only Gurukul education can play a vital role .  Along with modern education, it creates interest in religious, social, political  education and does work according to the interests of the children.
Teachers are always respected &  in today's era  also a guru is worshipped  for his dedicated work .   He always tries that the future of the children must be bright and also works hard for it. But even after doing too much, a Guru does not get the respect that he deserves. It is as if the freedom of the Guru has been taken away from him.
It is a said:-
The more a diamond is polished, the more its value increases.

But no teacher has the right to cut today's diamonds means he has no right to shape up his students .  If a teachers behaves a little strictly to improve his naughty  students, then the first complaint comes from  the parents because they keep them with great & pessimistic love and that is why they do not want them to be scolded. This blind love let the parents to fulfill their stubbornness which should not be done. I would like to clarify this with  one more example:-
For example , most of the parents complaint  that their children do not listen to them/ watch the phone in excess/ play games/ watch TV/ do not study/ do not eat food in time/  don't respect their elders etc. Being a teacher, after hearing these complaints  , the question comes in mind who has the responsibility of explaining all these things to a child?? And if the parents are not able to explain then whose fault is it???  You are unable to understand two or three children or being a parent of one child, you are not able to tell them right or wrong and you expect a teacher who teaches 40 minutes to a group of 40 to 50 students , he would be able to teach them everything. How can this be possible? Think  yourself.........

For this a teacher needs time .  He will be able to do something if Gurukul education to be followed . So let's return to our vedic culture . Let our teachers to build a strong nation  .
Happy Teacher's Day to all.
