Yoga has been related to man since ancient times. Yoga is also described in our Vedas. The sages have done many great sadhnas on the strength of yoga. Yoga can harmonize both the mind and the brain and all the work can be done smoothly. Yoga keeps both the mind and the mind calm. With the help of yoga, we can attain infinite powers. It is only on the strength of yoga that great men have become the great personalities. Our great leaders used to do yoga, followed the rules, followed celibacy, that's why they were so brave that the enemy could not stand in front of them. We all know about Lord Shri Krishna, he was a great yogi. He had learned 16 arts on the strength of yoga. . Lord Shiva is still visible in his idols in yoga posture only . He always used to sit in meditation. He used to engage in samadhi, which is the last stage of yoga. If we talk about today's modern era, then in today's time yoga can be seen on a global level. The craze of doing yoga has increased among all the people. And to promote yoga, International Yoga Day is also celebrated on 21st June. Yoga should be an integral part of our daily routine.
The general meaning of yoga is to join something . Here it is talked about the connection between the soul and the Supreme Soul. To divert your mind from all sides & approaching yourself is known as yoga. Maharishi Patanjali has clarified in his Yoga Sutras that the practice of meditation is called yoga, i.e., to calm the mind, to meditate in one direction by disconnecting it from all directions or to focus on the Supreme Soul . There are 8 types of yoga: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, Samadhi. In today's time, most of the people are limited to yoga-asanas and pranayama . Even if a person follows only these two things, he can still make his health very good. To do this, a person will also have to take a firm determination, and if he has to do it regularly by being in discipline, then he also starts following the Yama and Niyama. While doing pranayama, the attention of a person is also engaged to some extent or while chanting Gayatri Mantra or worshiping any of his favorite deity, the attention of man automatically gets engaged for the Almighty for a few moments. Because meditation brings peace to man, it satisfies the hunger of the soul.
If we want to start doing asanas, there are so many asanas that they never end nor do we have enough time to do all the asanas. That is why our sages had already divided the categories of asanas, i.e, special types of asanas were prescribed for a particular disease. Similarly, Pranayama was also placed in some special category. To stay healthy, we should do some special asanas and 8 pranayamas daily which are as follows:- Bhastrika, Kapalbhati, Bahya Pranayama Anulom-Vilom, Ujjayi, Bhramari, Udgeetha, Pranav Pranayama. Surya Namaskar asana is considered a complete exercise. By doing 21 to 108 cycles of this asana, the body becomes flexible, healthy, strong and the whole body gets exercised. There is no need to even go to the gym by doing this. Children should do 5 asanas daily to increase their height which are as follows Tadasana, Sarvangasana, Bhujangasana, Chakrasana and Surya Namaskar. Shirshasan is the best posture. By doing this we can avoid disease related to brain, head, mouth, throat, eyes, nose, ears etc. In this way, doing every asana and every pranayama has some special benefits which help in keeping us healthy. And by doing this our routine also becomes regular. There is a special glow on the face & skin of a yogi . Blood circulation is good. All the toxins in the body are expelled through sweat. That's why we all should adopt yoga.
Yogasachittavritti nirodha: It is only by doing yoga that the mind can be pacified and all the disorders of the mind can be removed.
